We decided at the last minute to go to Malaysia for the weekend from Australia. Got in early Friday morning and spent the day in KL sight seeing. Qualifying Saturday was great. Lot's of sun and heat, we got the cheap tickets around the back of the circuit with all the locals, wouldn't have had it any other way! The people were great fun! Sunday racing was brilliant. Hot and dry for Moto 3 and Moto 2 before it poured down and dropped about 10 degrees. I think this was the reason we had such a phenomenal Gp. The view from where we were was amazing and we were able to see some close passing.
Very impressive stadium. Leaving the stadium was total chaos. Overall a very good day.
Huge queue for the airport bus, took us 2-3 h to get to the airport from the cuircit.
This is the 3rd time I have been to the Malaysian GP. I have been attending motogps for the past 31 years. I have been to many rounds in Europe but this is my favourite track. It is well designed well run and cheap. The only real downside is the heat which can get very intense. I usually stay in the main grandstand area however this year it was sold out. The hill stand C2 was still good but the main grandstand is more comfortable as you can sitt in seats. You get a coach bus from the centre of KL which takes you directly to the track. All to easy.
Great option, much cheaper than any other GP i have been to. Understand why, however a few more big screens would be nice plus WIFI. Those are both luxuries though. Transport around circuit was excellent and plenty of volunteers to ask. I really recommned anyone to come to Sepang. The Red Bull tent was great fun and with the big screen. The open day on Friday is just great and not bust at all!! I used to the bus from KL and for how bad it could have been it was pretty great. A/C!
